Sean Boston, Program Manager

Sean Boston joined the Social Security Administration in 1993 as a college intern in the component now known as the Office of Quality Programs.  While in his internship he transferred into the Office of Telecommunication and Systems Operations.  After graduating from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1994, with a B.S. in Information Systems Management, he became a career employee. 

As a highly regarded IT specialist, he eventually became the team leader of the Special Configurations Team, which was responsible for creating and maintaining the workstation and server configurations for what is now known as the Office of Disability and Review (ODAR).  His team provided technical guidance and support for over 1,400 ODAR headquarters employees and 6,600 ODAR field office employees.

In 2004 he was promoted into a Program Manager position in the Office of Training (OT), Center for Training Technology.  His primary duties include:

  • Technology research and development
  • Video on Demand
  • SharePoint Services
  • Database development and support,
  • The Office of Learning (formerly OT) Website
  • LAN support 

In 2015 he entered into the Advanced Leadership Program and did assignments in the Office for Retirement and Disability, the Office of Central Operations, and the Office of Labor Management and Relations.

Upon graduating the program, he became director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

He and his staff have a dedication to providing quality service and providing inclusion in an ongoing never-ending commitment to respect and embrace our workplace colleagues and the people we serve.
